4/25/19 - Groomed Last night to compress and flatten snow. It is likely the last time we will groom. No tracks just skate lanes, classical skiers will enjoy also the surface. 7km ski (no bare spots) - 12km ski (take off skis twice). It is late season skiing but still worth it. With today's hot temps it is best to get out early. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a lunch.

4/23/19 - Though our touring center is officially closed. There is still snow out there and apparently we can't stop grooming it. We will be grooming every now and then just to keep skiing alive for those who want to enjoy late spring skiing. Conditions are surprisingly good for this late in spring. Come out and enjoy a pleasant late season ski!

Die Hard Skiers: We still have continuous skiing leaving right from our touring center. Waterfall Trail provides access to multiple use trails, which have continuous snow coverage and were groomed last night. Spring skiing this late is a rarity in April. Spring is in the air, Sun is out, Birds are tweeting, Streams are flowing, come enjoy a pleasant spring ski.

Thanks for a great season. See you on Thanksgiving weekend for our open house, enjoy your summer!

We are still open and grooming daily! Don't put away your skis yet, at Bear Notch Ski Touring center, there is still quality spring skiing left. On our Western trail Network we have at least 15 km excellent groomed continuous skiing right out touring center's door

Our remarkably deep base (still 8"-24") has held out very well through the warm spell and rain. We still have exceptionally good spring skiing on Waterfall trail. East Albany Brook Trail Network and the Experimental Forest Trails. Snow in these areas is running deep, clean and is freshly groomed. Our scenic and simple Saco River Trails have thinning snow coverage, also freshly groomed, but still offer a pleasant and scenic ski at least for today.  Due to last night's warm temps snow did not set up. We groomed last night any way. The result was perfectly defined tracks and skate lanes. With today's extreme warm temps we recommend getting out early before trails soften too much. Bring a lunch. Spring skiing of this quality is a rarity in April. Birds are tweeting and Streams are flowing and Spring is in the air. This is a perfect day for a pleasant ski. These excellent trail conditions won't last forever. So come on out and enjoy before it is too late. (Rentals available). Skiers are very impressed with our trail conditions.

Good News Cross Country Skiers 3/31/19 Looking for Superb Spring Skiing? We Have It!

We are grooming fresh tracks and skate lanes daily.

Our remarkably deep base (still 18"-36") is surviving this warm event exceptionally well. Best spring skiing in years. Skiers are amazed by our trail conditions. Temps did not drop below freezing last night so snow did not set up.. We groomed fresh well defined tracks and skate lanes on our Western trail network, Yates Farm Network and the 10 km Village loop yesterday. We will groom as needed today. With today's warm temps trail surface will be moist loose granular – packed powder mix. Our conditions are still amazingly good. Spring is in the air, birds are twitting, stream are flowing, picnic tables are out, come on out and enjoy a pleasant spring ski.

Don't put away your skis yet there is plenty of winter left!
