Not Good News Cross Country Skiers
High quality spring skiing is gone. There is still decent skiing out there, but it is broken up with some areas of gray ice with thin vein of snow on side of trail and two bare spots on a 10 km ski. That said if die-hards want to get out (skiing is complimentary). I would advise to wait till afternoon. Once temps rise toward 50 degrees the gray ice breaks down to corn snow and skis fairly well. Even though skiing is less than perfect, the experience of being out on the trails is awesome and relaxing. Birds are out, water is flowing everywhere, sounds and smell of spring are sweet.
Thank You to all our Bear Notch Believers for making this difficult season, a great ski season. See you next year.

Snow is there but it is wet snow.

To the die-hard skiers. The rain took away some coverage but there is still decent coverage on trails leading to the Experimental Forest trails. Trail surface is too wet to groom today. Trails surface will be wet snow, corn snow with some gray ice down low. We are open on a donation basis. Ski first then donate what you feel it was worth. We groomed Wednesday on Waterfall Trail, Experimental Forest Trails and Albany brook trails(these trails should have decent coverage). We may groom again tomorrow. It is a wait and see situation. Coverage on river trails gone, but coverage in experimental Forest Trails is still decent. Skiers are amazed we still have pleasant spring skiing. Birds are out, water is flowing, sounds and smell of spring are everywhere. Skiing is too good to miss, but it will not last forever. Come out and enjoy a relaxing ski on our scenic trail network.

Good News Cross Country Skiers We are open, it is snowing, we are grooming and conditions are awesome! Skiers are amazed by our trail conditions. Come ski the difference and find out what you have been missing!

Groomed and ready: Lower fields, upper and lower Saco River Trails, Trail#21, #30 and Yates Farm network

Grooming in progress on: waterfall trail, Experimental Forest Trails, East Albany Brook Trail Network and Village Loop.

We are now an open air business. Due to concerns about the corona virus we will be closing[U1]  all public indoor areas. We will no longer be preparing soups or bread. Our warming area and rental area will closed to public use. Rentals will be available on a one person at a time basis on our open air front porch.  Though we are grooming mostly for our season pass holders we are offering public access on a limited basis. We do take this virus very seriously, but believe with precautions, people can and should still enjoy outdoor sports safely. We have several picnic tables spaced out for public use. We recommend bringing a lunch and enjoy some scenic fresh air dining. Conditions are just too good to miss!

Children 16 and under ski free with paying adult

X-C ski and Snowshoe rentals available.

Due to sensible snow management and hard work. Bear Notch Ski Touring always provide the best conditions possible!

 Good News Cross Country Skiers

We survived Friday's storm, even had 1" net gain of new snow. Trail Conditions are xcellent!

Our skiers are amazed by our trail conditions. Most say best conditions in the state. Come ski the difference, find out what you have been missing. Before it is too late.

The new snow was very wet at first. As soon snow drained and temps dropped we were out grooming fresh tracks and skate lanes. We are out grooming fresh tracks and skate lanes again today and trails are coming out quit nice. The result is a loose granular- wet snow mix. We have groomed the Western Trail Network, #42 and Village loop and trails to Attitash MT Village first. Then on to scenic and simple Saco river Trails (river is awesome today!) and Yates Farm Trail Network (about 38km in all) Even though we have been in a meltdown cycle, snow coverage on our trails remained very good. This new snow makes them even better

X-C ski and Snowshoe rentals available.

Then on to scenic and simple Saco river Trails (river is awesome today!) and Yates Farm Trail Network (about 30km in all) Even though we have been in a meltdown cycle, snow coverage on our trails remained very good. It is snowing1/2"so far and it is still snowing.

Trails are a winter wonderland. Come out and enjoy!

We groomed extensively yesterday. Trails were already in excellent condition. This new snow makes them even better. Hopefully it remains snow. We will not be grooming again today unless snow accumulates. Even though we have been in a meltdown cycle, snow coverage on our trails is still very good. It will not last forever though, don't wait.

After yesterday's warm temps and last night's cold temps. Trail surface set up hard. We out grooming with renovator tiller and tenderizer.   It is a lot of work but worth it. The result is a machine groomed loose granular-powder mix. We are freshly grooming on our western trail network first today. Then the Lower Saco River trail and George's woods Come out and enjoy! Our picnic tables are out. Even though we are in a meltdown cycle, snow coverage on our trails is still very good. It will not last forever though, don't wait. Looking for excellent X-C conditions with

Spectacular views? We have them! 50 km

After yesterday's warm temps and last night's temps barely dropped to freezing. Snow did not set up enough for a heavy grooming. We will groom on a limited basis. We will groom only in AM hrs on areas with firm trail surface.  We recommend waiting for temps to rise. Once temp's rise all trails will ski nicely. Come out and enjoy! Our picnic tables are out. Even though we are in a meltdown cycle, snow coverage on our trails is still very good. X-C ski and Snowshoe rentals available.
