 Good News Cross Country Skiers

We still have some late season spring skiing.

Trails were groomed for hours yesterday. This helped soften the trail surface.   Unfortunately now that temps have dropped the snow has set up overnight. We will be out softening trail surface again this AM. Trails will ski best after temps rise above freezing. (10AM at earliest)

Grooming on Waterfall Trail to Experimental Forest trails #19 and more. Skiers can expect about an 8KM round trip with 2 bare areas and some gray ice. Skiing on #19 is surprisingly good.

Skiing is on a donation basis. (Ski first then donate)

Call ahead for update 603- 374-2277

Unfortunately now that temps have dropped the snow has set up very hard. Temps today are supposed to remain cold. Trail surface is too hard to groom today. Trail surface could be dangerous.  We hope to create a skiable surface tomorrow when temps rise

What a difference a day makes. We received 5" of very nice dense snow. Due to the fact our snow base was 96.5% intact this new snow has made spring skiing remarkably good.

Today we groomed: Waterfall Trail (#2), Experimental forest Trails (#19 & #5), Albany brook Trails(#5, #5a & #6). Also Yates Farm Trail Network (tracks and skate)

Tomorrow (3/23/26).  We will be freshly grooming again and setting track where appropriate. Trails offer a memorable spring experience: birds are chirping, water is flowing everywhere, sounds and smell of spring are sweet.

We ended up with only 2" of new snow. This improved conditions slightly. There will be a couple of bare spots. Trails will be a spring skiing wonderland this AM.

Spring skiing on: Waterfall Trail to Experimental Forest Trail. Yates Farm Fields (not the hills)

High quality spring skiing is gone. There is still decent skiing out there, but it is broken up with some areas of gray ice with thin vein of snow on side of trail and two bare spots on a 10 km ski. That said if die-hards want to get out (skiing is on a donation basis).  Even though skiing is less than perfect, the experience of being out on the trails is awesome and relaxing. Birds are out, water is flowing everywhere, sounds and smell of spring are sweet.

That said if die-hards want to get out (skiing is on a donation basis). I would advise to wait till late morning. Once temps rise toward 50 degrees the gray ice breaks down to corn snow and skis fairly well.
