Good News Cross Country Skiers

Not All X-C touring center are closed

We are open and it is snowing!

We still have skiing leaving from touring center

We took the weekend off due to the very cool temps. Trail surface was very hard and temp remained too cold for surface to soften or groom. Now things are changing. We have received a light coating of snow already and it is still snowing.  Give a little time before coming out to ski. Trails will be beautiful today, streams are running, birds are out and it is a winter wonderland, all in same day. Due to fact our base is still intact even a small amount of snow will make a huge difference in quality of skiing. We expect to be open again on a day by day basis as long as we have decent spring skiing. Stay tuned winter is not over yet.

Best skiing on: Waterfall Trail (some ice down low) to trail #19, Upper Albany Brook Trails and experimental Forest Trails.

Discounted prices on all new and used skate and classical equipment. You can still try before you buy.

Next year season passes are also available. (Best skiing value)

Not Good News Cross Country Skiers

Our trails are closed today.

Up until today skiers have been enjoying a late season spring ski leaving from our touring center. The key words being spring skiing. Today is not spring like. Trail surface today is very hard and temp will remain too cold for surface to soften. Even groomed trail surface would be too fast. Sorry but skiing today would be dangerous and we don’t want our skiers to get hurt.

We did not receive snow last night and we do not plan to be open on Saturday. Overnight temps were very cold and are not expected to rise above freezing on Saturday. Without new snow or warm temps trail surface will be too hard to be safe. Due to fact our base is still intact even a small amount of snow will make a huge difference in quality of skiing. We expect to be open again on Monday. Stay tuned winter is not over yet.

Discounted prices on all new and used skate and classical equipment. You can still try before you buy.

Good News Cross Country Skiers

We have decent late spring skiing.

Skiers are still enjoying a late season spring ski leaving from our touring center. Trail surface is firm this AM. We recommend waiting for temps to rise before coming out to ski today. Bring a picnic lunch and a sense of humor. Unless we receive snow this evening we do not plan to be open on Saturday. Overnight temps are very cold and are not expected to rise above freezing on Saturday. Without snow trail surface will be too hard to be safe. Due to fact our base is still intact even a small amount of snow makes a huge difference in quality of skiing. Stay tuned winter is not over yet.

Best skiing is on Waterfall Trail to Experimental Forest Trails. Spring has sprung, birds are singing, water is flowing, it is a wonderful time to get outside and experience Mother Nature’s glory.

To all our current and future Bear Notch Believers

We Need Your Help!

We are no longer going to be included in WMWV daily ski conditions report. Due to the fact, touring centers with more advertising money are allowed more time on the conditions report and trail conditions are often misleading. We canceled our advertising with WMWV. If you don’t advertise with them you are not included in conditions report. We are currently sitting on some of the best skiing in New England and can’t get that message out.  We feel ski reports should bring current and accurate information to our visiting skiers. In an effort to get out the real conditions, we are asking for your help, our customers. If you have skied here and are as impressed with our conditions, as we think you will be. Please use any media device or avenue you know to get the information out. We are a small business and are tired of the real conditions not getting reported. Any pictures or comments may be sent to SKI NH. E-mail to   Kim@skinh.com

Thank You from BNST

We will continue to post a daily report on our Webb site.  www. bearnotchskitouring.com
